Are Now Available

 

RREM Program Repair or Rebuild

$600 million in federal funds has been allocated to help eligible primary Homeowners repair or rebuild their Superstorm Sandy impacted homes.  The  RREM program will assist you in Rehabilitation, Reconstruction, Elevation and Mitigation  RREM provides grants to eligible Homeowners up to $150,000.   The RREM program is intended to “fill the gap” between the cost of repairs and other funds the owner has received to repair the structure.

  Resettlement Program



$180 million in federal funds has been allocated to support a Homeowner Resettlement Program designed to encourage Homeowners to remain in the nine (9) most impacted Counties [Atlantic, Bergen, Cape May, Essex, Hudson, Middlesex. Monmouth, Ocean, Union] that were severely impacted by Superstorm Sandy. The funds may be used for any non-construction purpose that assists the Homeowner to remain in, or return to, the County in which they lived prior to Superstorm Sandy. The grant amount is $10,000.

The Christie Administration announced that applications for the following programs offered through the Community Development Block Grant Disaster Recovery Action Plan will be available this Friday, May 24, 2013. Applications for the various program will be made through the State of New Jersey – Department of Community Affairs website at  www.nj.gov/dca

CDBG FUNDS AVAILABLE FOR SANDY VICTIMS TO RE-BUILD AND ELEVATE UP TO $150,000

Eligible homes must have been owner-occupied primary residences at the time of the storm. Homeowners must have registered with FEMA. The RREM program will serve households with adjusted household incomes under $250,000. Applicants will be processed on a first received, first evaluated basis. Homes must be located in one of the nine most impacted and distressed counties (Atlantic, Bergen, Cape May, Essex, Hudson, Middlesex, Monmouth, Oceans and Union), and will be prioritized based on the degree

HOMEOWNER RE-SETTLEMENT PROGRAM UP TO $10,000


Eligible homeowners must have occupied their home as a primary residence at the time of the storm. Homeowners must have registered with FEMA. The home must be located in one of the nine most impacted and distressed counties.
Homes must have sustained a minimum of FEMA full verified loss (FVL) determination of Major or Severe ($8,000 or greater) or more than one foot of flooding on the first floor.
The Resettlement program is not individually income restricted although sixty percent (60%) of award funds will be reserved for low and moderate income households. Applicants will be processed on a first come first serve basis.
